چکیده

Aiming at the problems of lack data on nonlinear morphology to divide uneven grain boundary in bulk ceramics, a unique approach nanorobot-based characterization three-dimensional structure length can be creatively proposed under scanning electron microscope quantify actual local micro-area ZnO. Contour shapes targeted boundaries plane X-Y imaged using SEM. Z-directional relative height differences different positions sequentially probed by nanorobot. Experiments demonstrate that it is effective characterize structures materials. By quantifying differences, verified show irregular characteristics exist length, which extend depth effect conductance. Furthermore, this method also obtain quantitative topographies analysis polycrystalline

Three-dimensional digital approximations of grain boundary networks in polycrystals

In this work, we offer a set of algorithms that convert a voxellated image to a conformal surface mesh that is targeted for polycrystalline materials containing grains with a wide range of sizes and complex shapes. More specifically, we propose a simple but effective algorithm for approximating the grain boundary networks that are implicit in three-dimensional digital images of polycrystals. Th...

Tilt grain boundary instabilities in three-dimensional lamellar patterns.

We identify a finite wave-number instability of a 90 degrees tilt grain boundary in three-dimensional lamellar phases which is absent in two-dimensional configurations. Both a stability analysis of the slowly varying amplitude or envelope equation for the boundary, and a direct numerical solution of an order parameter model equation are presented. The instability mode involves two-dimensional p...

Deriving grain boundary character distributions and relative grain boundary energies from three-dimensional EBSD data

Three-dimensional electron backscatter diffraction data, obtained by serial sectioning a nickel– base superalloy, has been analysed to measure the geometric arrangement of grain boundary planes at triple junctions. This information has been used to calculate the grain boundary character distribution (GBCD) and the grain boundary energy distribution (GBED). The twin content from the three-dimens...

Three-Dimensional Stochastic Characterization of Shale SEM Images

Complexity in shale-gas reservoirs lies in the presence of multiscale networks of pores that vary from nanometer to micrometer scale. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) and atomic force microscope imaging are promising tools for a better understanding of such complex microstructures. Obtaining 3D shale images using focused ion beam-SEM for accurate reservoir forecasting and petrophysical assess...

Three-dimensional analysis of intermediate filament networks using SEM tomography.

We identified tomographic reconstruction of a scanning electron microscopy tilt series recording the secondary electron signal as a well-suited method to generate high-contrast three-dimensional data of intermediate filament (IF) networks in pancreatic cancer cells. Although the tilt series does not strictly conform to the projection requirement of tomographic reconstruction, this approach is p...
